AccuCut

27 05 2008

AccuCut has discontinued its designer endorsement program.

Today’s update

27 02 2008

I’ve updated the Endorsements page with new links to a couple of stamp companies. I’ve also corrected the listing for Die Cuts with a View, which has apparently discontinued its endorsement program.

Thank you to everyone who has sent corrections and leads. Keep ‘em coming!

New endorsements added

7 02 2008

I’ve added information to the Endorsements page about a couple of stamp companies: Blockhead Paper Arts and Queen Kat Designs. There are now nearly fifty companies listed. If you have information about any manufacturers that are not listed, please contact me. Thanks.

ScrapSubmit is being offered for sale

30 01 2008

Here is the announcement from the ScrapSubmit home page:

Hello all loyal ScrapSubmit.Com Members and visitors. I truly thought this day would never come. I have grown ScrapSubmit.Com from an idea to the incredible machine you see before you. But it can be more, and I know it can. It has provided a good steady stream of income for many years now but I just simply don’t have the time to dedicate to it anymore. So I say very sadly, I am selling ScrapSubmit.Com. This site has thousands of members that span the entire globe. With new members literally joining everyday, it shows no sign of stopping. All this without me ever advertising the site (Do a search on ANY search engine for ScrapSubmit). Imagine if someone with the energy and time to promote this site took over, it would be incredible. I would be willing to stay on and show the new owner(s) how to use and maintain the patented system that is the very heart of ScrapSubmit.Com. If you are serious and want to truly put your heart in to it then contact me with your proposal. I can be reached directly at: Admin AT scrapsubmit.com . Thanks again everyone for making ScrapSubmit.Com what it is today.

“Publishers” page is finished

19 01 2008

At least, I’ve added as much information as I can locate. To find contact information for dozens of U.S. and foreign (English-language) publishers, visit the Publishers page.

If you know of a publication that I’ve missed, or can add to or correct the information I’ve provided, don’t keep it to yourself. Let me know so other designers can benefit.

With a little help from our friends

8 01 2008

The Endorsements page is continuing to grow, thanks to information provided by friends of the SDR blog. I’ve added info on about a dozen companies since the beginning of the year, so if you haven’t checked the Endorsements page recently, you could be missing out.

Thank you to those who have been in touch. Keep ‘em coming!

Taking stock

1 01 2008

The beginning of a new year is as good a time as any for taking stock. SDR has been up and running for about a week and has had more than 400 hits already. There’s obviously a need for the sort of info it offers, so that’s something.

The Endorsements and Publishers pages are beginning to fill out. The Endorsements page now has listings for more than twenty manufacturers, and I expect to add several more soon.

I’m nearly done with the submission info for U.S. publishers. I’ll be working next on English-language publishers outside the U.S.

To come: the FAQs pages for endorsements and submissions.

If there’s anything else you’d like to see on this blog—or if you’d like to offer suggestions, kudos, or criticisms—leave a comment or email me via the Contact tab above.

Wishing you a healthy, productive, and fun new year!

Ten companies added to “Endorsements” page

28 12 2007

The Endorsements page is off to a good start with the ten companies I added yesterday. Please keep the information coming so I can expand this listing. Thanks!

Welcome to SDR!

27 12 2007

Welcome to Scrapbook Designer Resources! This blog is for scrapbookers and paper crafters who share their work (or are hoping to share their work) through publication in magazines and idea books. It will contain information about the submission process, contacts for the major publishers, and a list of manufacturers that pay endorsement fees to designers. It will not list current calls for publication, as the Pub Calls blog already does an excellent job of that.

I will be adding content as time allows, and you can help. I am working on the Endorsements page right now. If you are on a manufacturer’s design team, please ask the DT coordinator or company owner whether the company has a pay-for-pub program for non-DT members. If it does, please find out the details: which products and publications qualify, how to apply, what documentation is needed, contact info, how much they pay (cash or product), and so on. If there’s no program, please let me know that too. If you’re not on a DT, you can still help by choosing a company to contact and report back on. You can email me via the “Contact” tab at the top of the page.

Thank you for your assistance. I hope you find this to be a useful resource. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
